: "I am just as deaf as I am blind. The problems of deafness are deeper and more complex, if not more important, than those of blindness. Deafness is a much worse misfortune. For it means the loss of the most vital stimulus—the sound of the voice that brings language, sets thoughts astir, and keeps us in the intellectual company of man."
I saw a piece of art work with the words " Love never fails". I thought this would be a nice quote to give a parent from a deaf child/adult for mother's day or father's day. I do believe parents who have a deaf child can give more love with ASL. :)
Herman Melville quotes “We may have civilized bodies and yet barbarous souls. We are blind to the real sights of this world; deaf to its voice; and dead to its death. And not till we know, that one grief outweighs ten thousand joys will we become what Christianity is striving to make us.”
