Today is #worldphotoday so let's have a chat about my photos! When I started making jewellery I knew I had to take good photos but I didn't anticipate just how much I'd learn about photography. I got to know my compact Canon Ixus inside out it was hugely rewarding to learn a new skill (whilst also learning to make jewellery!). Meet our Jinja designer Nyandila Magriet! Margriet (60) was born in the Masindi district in Uganda and moved to Jinja as a child. Margriet is living in one of the poorest areas in Jinja called Danida village; she speaks Lusoga Luganda Swahili and Nyuro. Margriet is a smart lady and went to school up to primary 4 but because of poverty her parents could not afford to send her to school longer.
