Pompeii- The city of Pompeii is a partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania. It was partially destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. The structure of whole city and the exact position of the person was in when they died are still can be seen.

Mt. Vesuvius is the volcano responsible for covering the city of Pompeii with a blanket of ash in 79 A.D., preserving it until it's re-discovery in the 1700s. A hike up to the crater rim is a unique and interesting way to experience history.
