Sours are made with three parts: liquor, citrus and sweetener. This classic sour cocktail, made using the almond-flavoured Italian liqueur, Amaretto, emerged during the 1970s. We love bringing it out at retro-themed dinner parties but really, its classic sweet and sour taste goes along great with any party occasion.

• 27.00 gm maple syrup (see tips)
