This product features 5 mini lessons, plus two computer game lessons, designed to teach dictionary skills and thesaurus skills to students in elementary and middle school. Originally designed for grade 4-5, these lessons can work well for students in grades 3-7. All lessons feature a teacher plan, student instructions, and any relevant worksheets. These lessons can be completed independently (although some mention the use of a partner) or as a whole group or small group instruction in the library.Skills covered include looking up words and spellings in the dictionary, using dictionary guide words, recognizing multiple meaning words, finding the part of speech in the dictionary, breaking words into syllables, and using synonyms to enhance a piece of writing.Note: These lessons come from 30+ Library Centers for Grades 4-5.
