We shared this story about the origin of the Shakti Peethas. Today, we revisit it, as we begin our Shakti Peethas series - Maa Parvati, Lord Shiva’s wife and the Divine Mother, had once jumped in a ritual fire (Havan) that Her father had arranged for because She was mad at him for not inviting Her husband to the ritual. In those days, ritual fires (Havans) were a big deal and Goddess Parvati’s father had invited everyone but Her.
