Letters written and received during the First World War were perhaps more important for morale at home and on the front than during any other conflict. Here two soldiers pen their letters to loved ones.

Once Upon a Time in War — A Red Army soldier with his kitten, Eastern Front. ~ "His kitten". Proof that the kittens get everyone! Even a soldier hardened by war. Or maybe ESPECIALLY a soldier hardened by war.
