Architectural model of 'Girrawaa Creative Work Centre at Bathurst Jail'

Merrima in association with the museum are the designers of the Bayagulllhibition. Merrima is staffed by two architects and an interior designer who work solely on Indigenous projects. In 1999 they received an award from the Institute of Architects for their work on the Girrawaa Creative Work Centre at Bathurst jail. The consultation process undertaken with the Indigenous communities that these buildings were built for is extremely important so that it reflects their cultural needs.

Architectural model of St Ives, display home by George Hudson Pty Ltd, 1955-1956

This is a model of a free-standing suburban domestic Australian home of the 1950s. Called the 'St Ives', it was made by George Hudson Homes of the Sydney suburb of Cabramatta and used by Berger Paints & British Paints of Rhodes for display and promotions of their exterior paint colour schemes.

Architectural model for Westfield Sydney retail and office centre, 2006

The models lend an insight into the complex process involved in creating a major project on a central city site, and the complexity of design and political processes in contemporary urban architecture. Westfield Sydney comprises a retail centre covering the former Centrepoint, Imperial Arcade and Skygarden sites, the remodelled 100 Market Street office tower and a new 27-storey office tower located at 85 Castlereagh Street.

This display model illustrates the design and construction principle of the Sydney Opera House roof. The model demonstrates the nature of the geometry of the roof shells. The shells were all taken from the same sphere, and the removable shell sections provide an excellent visual representation of the roof geometry.
