Eat History Exhibition.

History Week 2011 theme Eat History was marked with an exhibition at Bowen Library of kitchenalia loaned by residents. Highlights included a hand embroidered supper cloth passed through four generations of the one family, butter pats, tea cups and an old Sunbeam mix master. Photographs of a functioning old "Kooka" brand stove, still in fine working order, in a kitchen at Randwick, were incorporated in the display, which was a trip down memory lane of how we used to cook and entertain.

Metters Early Kooka, stove and gas hot plates. I learned to cook on this antique, ours was green. You gauged the temperature by the height of the gas flame.
