Forest Preschool - if every child could spend at least part of their day in a natural setting with very little adult intervention like this here... Notice how cooperative they are when in an environment like this. And again, the more simple the toys, the more complex the play can become. These children's imaginations are in over-drive. We need children who can think creatively since the majority of jobs these kids will have when they are older have yet to be invented. -Angelina

Cedarsong Nature School was the first school in the United States to open a Forest Kindergarten based on the German model of Waldkindergartens or outdoor preschools. Cedarsong Nature School's philosophy is that children need to spend a large portion of their day outdoors to get the stimulation and natural learning experiences they are born to crave.

Just look at the “Rain or Shine” preschools in Scandinavia, where toddlers spend the majority of the day outside all year round, playing in creeks, digging in dirt and chasing each other around the woods. Places where they hone their motor skills by balancing on logs and jumping on rocks, and bond with nature by getting their hands on bugs and plants on a daily basis. In Scandinavia, these preschools have been around for over 50 years and are a popular choice among health-conscious parents.
