The Hannya (般若) mask is a mask used in Noh theater. It possesses two sharp bull-like horns, metallic eyes, and a leering mouth split from ear to ear. The mask expresses the fury of a vengeful woman turned demon through pain and rage.
The oni is almost always shown with horns. Their varied faces similar to noh masks are typically pink, red, or blue-grey. Guardians of Buddhist hell, demons who carry out the punishment given by the queen of hell to the souls that find themselves being judged for the evil deeds in life.The gods of wind (Fujin)(Raijin) that loom ominously atop a summit of clouds are usually depicted as oni, showing that oni are not evil, but carry out duties & deeds given them by powerful deities
