The Benjamin Pool is a water reservoir which was built in 1891, a few years after the establishment of the colony. Up until then the local residents got their water from a nearby spring. Bringing a steam engine into the colony made things easier and the water were pumped with its help directly into the Benjamin Pool, which is named after the Baron Edmond Benjamin James de Rothschild.

Ramat Hanadiv Park covers approximately 450 hectares (1125 acres) of land perched on a plateau at the southern tip of the Carmel mountain range in Israel. At the heart of the Park are the carefully manicured Memorial Gardens which extend over approximately seven hectares (17.5 acres), surrounding the Baron and Baroness Rothschild's crypt. The broad lawns, trees and colourful seasonal flowers attract hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
