Monthly Bead Box Challenge

These are my entries into the monthly 'My Beads' bead box challenges. You must follow the monthly theme an each piece must comprise at least 80% of what came in the bead box. I've also set myself a rule to only use findings and other items that I already have in my stash to complete my ideas.

Theme: Merry Christmas 2015. Bright and cheery in real life. Looks a bit gaudy in my picture (I'm so bad at taking photos!).

Theme: Merry Christmas 2015. This set kind of has a Frozen feel! Simple but pretty

Theme: Magical Mauve. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Yes, this one took first place with quite a lot of votes! It was a lot harder to make this idea work than I expected. Not perfect but pretty close.

Theme: Be Bold. My least favourite thing I have made since starting the contest (also the first contest piece I ever made)

Theme: Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair. Or the shorter version - Pretty in Punk! This one took the win for the month. There was a lot of work in it because I only had gunmetal grey eye pins and had to make little head pins out of them. I wanted to include more strands and bulk in the bracelet but ran out of time. It still came out pretty good (and I won!).

Theme: Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair! I really loved this one - I thought it was on point with the theme and totally different to what everyone else came up with. It got loads of great comments but didn't win.

Theme: Purple Passion. Winner hasn't been decided yet but I am in with a chance as there are only two entries! I'm happy with how this turned out (earrings are boring as). I left a length of chain on the necklace so you could clip it at different levels at the back and it would give you a totally different looking necklace at the front.

Theme" Perfect Peacock. I really, really loved this piece but it was beaten by something more over the top. I had loads of other ideas for pieces that particular month but we had a lot of family issues going on and I had no time to complete anything else. The curved rods were from my stash. Actually I cheated - I had nothing suitable in my stash and broke my own rules and bought these two just for this piece.

Theme: Magical Mauve. My first ever attempt at bead weaving, as well as making up my own design. Not perfect - I have a bit to learn about tension! Very proud of myself for making the closure and bead ball - followed a tute on Pinterest to make those!
