How to make friends with an alpaca

Handsome, aloof and looking a little like a cross between a camel and a sheep, the alpaca is one of nature’s strangest creations. Alpacas first appeared at the Show in 1869, but it is only since 1992 that they have been a continual feature. Over the intervening years, the Alpaca industry has become an important part of agriculture in Australia, with close to 2,500 Alpaca growers. Australian Alpaca wool is exported worldwide and prized international for its high quality.
