Without losing a piece of me How do I get to heaven? Without changing a part of me How do I get to heaven? All my time is wasted Feeling like my heart's mistaken, oh So if I'm losing a piece of me Maybe I don't want heaven?
The obscurity of the lighting and the composition are enough to mesmerize. I think it is the surreal combination of inside/outside coupled with the back of agent Cooper. The lighting is almost contradictory how it is so dark and yet so bright in some spots.
Hypnosis and mesmerisation share the lowest common denominator of repetition. In this case the stairs spiral formation is enough to distort space and bearings. This picture in a certain context can add to a narrative of disorientation, although can stand alone as functionally hypnotizing.
