Who are We

We are a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation based in St Kilda, Melbourne. We rehome new and pre-loved baby goods and nursery equipment to families in need. These donations are distributed to families experiencing hardship in Melbourne and surrounding towns through our partnerships with maternal and child health nurses and local social service agencies. St Kilda Mums was established in February 2009, Geelong Mums in April 2013 and Eureka Mums in Ballarat in February 2014.

Last night we got together with Geelong Mums for our planning and strategy meeting. We are so proud of everything they have achieved in such a short time. They now help more than 20 families every week. Back left to right Jessie Mac, Kate Betts, Clare Dowling, Christine Whelen, Bianca Clair and Kate Kent. Front - Helen Young, Jesse Vincent and Peta Magick.

Helen, Lisa, Kate and Emma meeting today. Lisa and Kate are from Geelong Mums and they came up to St Kilda to get some hands on training. All four of them are our contact people for social workers and MCH nurses and its their job to juggle requests for help, prioritising orders for babies born over babies unborn and trying to help as many families as quickly as possible each week.

Great news! Eureka Mums has already raised $5,000 towards their rent. Yesterday Ballarat obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Patrick Moloney and his wife Brigid donated $3000. Here he is handing the cheque over to Di, fundraising manager for Eureka Mums. Thank you to everyone who has donated!

We went to visit Eureka Mums today and check out their new warehouse. It is looking amazing! So much stock and so well organised! Congratulations to their team - Erin, Di, Trinsa, Caroline, Chloe and Michelle for creating such an important resource for the Ballarat community. Its like a giant baby superstore but there are no price tags. Everything is a gift - prepared with love and kindness and given to families in need. Please share this post with your Ballarat friends so that they know…

Jess travelled to Ballarat today to view the warehouse that Eureka Mums have found and meet with the landlord Ray Suttie. Here she is (left) with Di, Fundraising Manager for Eureka Mums, Ray and Erin, founder of Eureka Mums. Its a fantastic warehouse so next step is lease negotiations! Thank you to everyone who has made this possible by supporting the Eureka Mums rent appeal!
