Susanne Bianchi Art

Susanne predominantly works in oils and mixed media. She has a slightly `off-centre´ sense of humor which comes out in her work and her art always offers a story for the viewer to discover. In her work, Susanne uses contemporary ideas often combined with the human form to portray her message. She always writes a small story or poem to accompany her works, to invite the viewer to seek hidden meanings.

I decided to paint an image that was the essence of Australia. The Red Gum is a common Eucalypt which grows along river banks of eastern Australia and has highly appealing red flowers and pods in summer. It is a popular food source for the Australian Koala. Eucalyptus is a diverse genus of trees which dominate the tree flora of Australia with over 700 species. Eucalypts are found in almost every part of the continent, adapted to all climatic conditions.

Society today is a throw-away society. We use and consume and unthinkingly throw away our refuse. This image shows the still beauty of wetlands reflecting a picture perfect blue sky – a depiction of nature’s quiet loveliness. However this perfection is spoilt by a gleaming aluminum coca cola can thoughtlessly thrown away. It could have been thrown in the bin and recycled! Please respect this earth and take care to dispose of our rubbish responsibly.

My aim as an artist is to make the viewer experience an emotional response to my work. My painting is my homage to our beloved gum tree. The Australian Gum has become one of the most enduring symbols of our continent. I’ve tried to represent its strength and beauty and to honor the part it plays in the survival of the great Australian bush by providing moisture, food and shade for our wildlife. The classic image of the Australian landscape is vast swathes of land dominated by eucalyptus…

Inside Looking out Should I stay in here or go out there Can I walk outside without a care. Outside I feel I must compete Battles to fight, deadlines to meet. My facade portrays that all is fine But it’s not the case all of the time. Sometimes inside I feel amiss And wonder what’s the cause for this. Inside my world I know I’m safe Pull up the drawbridge, close the gate. Forsake the worries and the care I’ll stay in here, not go out there.
