In 1989 the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Stuart Challender made a landmark recording of orchestral music by Peter Sculthorpe. It included Kakadu (for which we'd given the Australian premiere), Irkanda IV (featuring our then concertmaster Donald Hazelwood and) and Small Town (which included a touching solo for principal oboe Guy Henderson, references to 'Heart and Soul' and the sounds of the Last Post).
