Special Breakfast Sunday

Special Breakfast Sunday was an idea I came up with when my younger son was four months old. The little one was suffering with reflux and I wanted to do something to return some of the focus onto my (then) two year-old. A weekly breakfast seemed like an appropriate thing to do. It has evolved into a bit of a food art thing. The internet has been a great source of inspiration to us so we thought we'd return the favour and create this page!

Fruit butterfly made for his little bro's Hungry Caterpillar-themed first birthday party. We made a butterfly template with baking paper to get the shape and then traced an outline of it onto a cake board with a skewer. We laid oranges, watermelon and pineapple down as the base and then topped this with all different fruit. The stars were made out of rockmelon with a star-shaped cookie cutter.
