La Martre lighthouse ~ Located on the coast of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, Canada. Originally a wooden structure built in 1876, the red lighthouse was constructed in 1906. The original timing system (cable and weights) still controls the light as it rotates in its pool of mercury.
