I really love how narrow her apron dress is, and how her under dress has a deeper slit and a layer underneath.

Part of an exhibit in a Novosibirsk Museum. The dress on the right looks to me like an open-fronted apron dress plus a short front cloth--but with the front cloth sewn in place. http://sashka-nsk.livejournal.com/37056.html

Iron Age Finnish Mantle - Fingerloop Braiding with Bronze Wire Coils. Part One. - a magyar jurta
Finger loop braiding with coiled wire. In-progress edge to an Iron Age mantle reconstruction by Lara Baker-Olin. "One of the striking features of the iron age Finnish Mantle is its heavily ornamentated borders. They are a composite of two different textiles techniques; integrated tablet weaving and fingerloop braiding. Throw in some bling in the form of bronze wire coils and you have a rich, complex work of art." (from her website)

Iron Age Finnish Mantle - Integrated Tablet Woven Band - a magyar jurta
Tablet weaving on my dining room table with C-clamps.
The right down corner of an 11th century apron replica. Down is the brick wall - decorated tablet woven band that is woven into the fabric. In the side there is a variation of double selvage, a hollow plain weave selvage.
