Tiny House off-grid living | Reed bed filtration ystem
#flashback to our little house about 2 years ago. It's amazing how much has changed since then. Back then, we just completed the reed bed filtration system for our greywater. The reeds are still tiny and the bathtubs look a lot cleaner 😉 Also, the garden bed next to the reed bed is not in place yet. We put the garden bed there to make good use of the overflow from the reed bed and it has served us well. If you want to know more about our greywater system, go to our blog

Last weekend, we finally got around to building a reed bed system to deal with our greywater properly. Only the reeds are missing at the moment as we are waiting for the reed tub to fill up with water. So from now on, our greywater will undergo a two-step filtering process by running through a grease trap and then through the reed bed. From there it will eventually run into the catchment tub and we can use it for the garden beds.
