Californian Bungalow 1910-1939

Californian bungalows are distinguished by their clinker-brick chimneys, low gables with bracketed and shingled gable ends, exposed rafters and thick masonry verandah pylons supporting a flat roof or gable over the porch. Bay windows with shingle skirts to the ground and casement-style windows with plain, uncoloured diagonal leadlight windows are also typical.
