In the past couple of years, a new sibling storm [to Jupiter's Great Red Spot] has erupted. The Little Red Spot, or Red Spot Jr., formed from the merger of three smaller white-colored storms in Jupiter’s southern hemisphere. The Little Red Spot, [at center of this picture], has kept growing since it was discovered in 2006 and is now about the size of Earth—and with wind speeds of 400 mph, it is now spinning as fast as its larger predecessor.

The Hubble Space Telescope provides flyby-class images of planets in Earth's solar system. This shot of Jupiter shows its Great Red Spot (GRS), a storm big enough to swallow multiple Earths.Located nearly 500 million.
