Arup raises the bar for sustainability
There are sustainable workplaces and then there’s the Living Building Challenge. Arup’s new Auckland location raises the bar for sustainable construction. To achieve Living Building Challenge certification, the project team followed sustainable and regenerative building practices. It’s the right choice for employees, the community, and the planet.
Positive impact inside the office and around the community
It’s important to positively impact the community you’re working in when opening a new office. Arup’s new Auckland location worked diligently with Māori Mana Whenua, Dane Tumahai and Paora Puru of Te Manu Taupua Ltd, the workplace centers around connection to New Zealand’s cultural heritage. But just as important is the community inside the workplace, which is why Arup also took into consideration how their new space can create a positive employee experience and improve employee wellbeing.
Arup’s new office: a sustainability marvel
Arup’s new workplace is on track to becoming the most sustainable office in New Zealand. Aligning with their net-zero by 2030 goal, the space has a positive impact on the environment and occupants' wellbeing. Key highlights include 99% of waste diverted from landfill, 90% of materials are free of toxic ingredients and 50% of materials are sourced locally within New Zealand.
