THRASS takes a ‘phonographic’ approach which says that a sound (phoneme) is represented by letters (graphemes) (e.g. The /e/ sound can be represented by ‘e’ (bed), ‘ea’ (bread) etc. The THRASS chart has a consonant and a vowel chart. It separates each phoneme (sound) into sections and has a visual representation (picture) for each sound and it’s spelling choice. THRASS is a complex tool that requires time and commitment.
