Onkaparinga Gorge

Onkaparinga river mouth in South Australia. The beach here is called Port Noarlunga, and the reef that shelters it from large waves makes for ideal swimming conditions. Surf lifesavers are on patrol over the summer months, and the area is surrounded by picturesque steep red sandstone cliffs, which is typical of South Australian beaches.

This is where the Onkaparinga finds its way to the St Vincent Gulf in South Australia. It is a popular spot for fishing (bream, salmon trout, mullet, and even the odd mulloway).
