Half in England, half in Wales,Thomas Telford's aqueduct is a 70ft high and 710ft long aqueduct that carries the Llangollen Canal across the Ceiriog Valley over the River Ceiriog at Chirk. Built between 1796 and 1801, it has 10 spans. The railway viaduct, added in 1846, stands 30 feet above the canal.
