My Tropical Garden
Creating Paradise in Suburbia
Built in storage
Tropical Garden path - curved lines create a sense of journey amidst bromeliads, palms, gingers and heliconias
'White Garden' path of black slate, white hailstone pebbles, and a mix of white flowering and variegated plants.
The gentle curve of the black basalt crazy paved path - interrupted by the stream crossing - creates forced vistas of the journey rather than the destination.
Front Garden Entrance
Front Garden entrance - basalt crazy paving contrasts well against the rich greenery.
Small Front Yards
The tight planting of bananas, palms, gingers, and cordylines along the path of my small front yard conceals the rest of the garden behind and above, further adding to the sense of exploration.
Black Bamboo Front Gate - setting the tropical jungle theme from the very start. A coat of Black Japan stain every year keeps it looking sharp.
Front Garden Top Pond Waterfall - cascading down through the front garden, twelve metres of stream crossing two paths, with two waterfalls, and feeding three ponds.
Garden Bench Seat
Built In Storage
