Using research about the First Fleet Ships my Year 4 students made these 2D models.

Research first fleet - times and engineering abilities and resources and challenge children to create a first fleet ship that floats across a paddling pool or local park.

My Year 4 class built this 'Ghost Ship' from the first fleet. The sails are their written accounts as child convicts on board the ship from England to Australia.

Awesome idea to display students' diary entries/report about the First Fleet
